Mercury 8 Coupe Calabash Yellow 1949
The 1:87 scale Mercury 8 Coupe ́ appears in a pale yellow shade with interior stone coloured seating. It is registered in Georgia, the Peach State, in 1949 as D-69684. The exterior chrome looks great against the bright body colour and the central chrome stripe along the sides features the Mercury name above the rear wheel arch. A bold Mercury badge also appears above the rear number plate as well as being printed across the front edge of the bonnet. Whitewall tyres with chrome hubs complete the image.
Mercury was a division of the Ford Motor Company under founder Edsel Ford. The 1949 Mercury was a complete redesign of not only a great post-war success but it provided a highly competitive opponent to the likes of General Motors. To this day, the Mercury name remains Ford’s protected property.
